Newborn sessions with older siblings in the mix offer a different dynamic than having only one tiny burrito in the house.  Big siblings, Evan and Rosie, desired to be right where the action was and present for all of our time together.  Even during their “breaks” where it was Penelope’s turn for the spotlight, big bro and big sis had snacktime right on the floor while Mom, Dad and baby sister were in front of my camera.  All six of us were crammed into Penny’s nursery and I just loved that!

After capturing all things Penelope, I could not help but want to snap a few shots of Evan and Rosie in their elements as well.  Before Penelope’s newborn shoot began, Evan gave me a tour of his room and proudly showed off his extensive Lego collection.  Rosie is a huge Trolls fan and her room has now been overrun with hot pink from her new, stylish Trolls comforter.  I knew exactly what I wanted to go back and capture.

They made it very clear that Legos and the movie Trolls are high on their interest lists right now.  Rosie, already halfway through the sucker she picked from my treasure chest, opened up her Trolls book and began the story.  A tiny piece of sucker still stuck on her face as she dove right in to one of her favorite activities.

Evan, highlighted by the warm afternoon light streaming in his window, showed me every single Lego creation he has designed.  Dad, cradling Penelope in his arms, chimed in and told stories of trips with Evan to the Lego store and all of the cool Legos available to kids these days.  My personal favorite Evan creation?  His pizza truck.  🙂
